What is a Digital Workspace?
A digital workspace is a framework responsible for managing applications, data delivery, and desktops. The framework is a combination of various technologies working together to deliver simplified IT management and customized experience to end-users. Together, they enhance overall workforce productivity along with increased data security and integrity.

Blast is remote display protocols that boost the performance of endpoint devices in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments. PCoIP is developed by Teradici and VMware takes the credit for introducing Blast Extreme. Let’s discuss how both protocols use data transfer rules that allow a desktop hosted at one location to display a client’s screen at another place, and how they differ in terms of performance.

Citrix Receiver is easy to install software which connects remote client devices to desktops and apps through the HDX protocol. The plug-ins available to versions of the Receiver depends on a client’s form factor, features, and capabilities. The HDX protocol is built on top of the ICA protocol which transfers keyboard and mouse input to the remote server and receives screenshot updates on the client device. The Receiver manages this traffic and the HDX protocol offers an HD experience of Windows apps to end-users working on the devices.

A Blade PC is everything one would look for in a standard desktop PC. The technology is contained in a secure server rack as a slim modular circuit card. It contains a hard drive, microprocessor, memory chips, network card, and a video card. An end user’s physical desktop has a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and a device similar to a router which connects back to a Blade PC via a network. The user simply needs to switch on the device to boot up and connect to the blade.
