Two ways to fix your screen resolution error running ClearCube Cloud OS

"Accidentally setting the wrong screen resolution on your ClearCube Thin Client can result in a black screen. Fortunately, there are two simple ways to resolve the issue—depending on whether or not you know the device's IP address."

Option 1: If You Know the Thin Client’s IP Address

If you know the IP address of your Thin Client, you can fix the display settings remotely:

  1. Access the Thin Client via Web Browser
Open a web browser and enter the Thin Client’s IP address in the address bar.

  2. Log into the Configuration Management Console
Once connected, log in to access the Thin Client’s configuration settings.

  3. Navigate to Display Settings
From the main menu, select “Display”, then click on “Monitor.”

  4. Edit Resolution Settings
Click the “Edit” button. You’ll see an option to change the screen resolution. Choose a compatible setting and save your changes.

Option 2: If You Don’t Know the IP Address

If you don’t know the device’s IP address and can’t access it remotely, a factory reset may be necessary:

  1. Open the Configuration Management Console
Once you’re in the Thin Client’s console (locally or remotely), look for “Factory Defaults.”

  2. Perform a Factory Reset
Click “Factory Defaults”, then select “Perform Factory Reset” to restore the device to its original settings.

Note: A factory reset will erase any custom configurations. Be sure to back up any important settings beforehand, if possible.
