Belkin Announces Partnership with ClearCube Technology
Belkin teams with leading virtual desktop solutions provider ClearCube to create secure KVM for virtual networks
Playa Vista, CA – August 2, 2011 —Belkin today announced a strategic partnership with ClearCube, a provider of virtual desktop products for cloud computing, rack-mounted secure workstations, and blade PCs. The partnership will yield the ClientCube, an industry-first solution designed to allow government employees to securely switch between different virtualized networks that are on separate zero clients.
Tightening budgets and government mandates continue to push government agencies toward virtualization for its sheer convenience, reduced energy usage, and significant cost savings. ClientCube will offer secure access to multiple virtualized desktop, storage, and network environments through a single chassis to government agencies dealing with increasingly virtualized environments.
“Our investment and focus in the public sector is aligned with our overall customer-first approach—designing solutions to solve end-user pain points,” said Luis Artiz, director of product management at Belkin. “This partnership and the solution coming out of it are proof positive that we are committed to developing new ways to use Belkin advanced technology solutions to help government customers keep up with security needs as technology continues to evolve towards the cloud.”
Belkin’s Advanced Secure DVI-I Keyboard-Video-Mouse (KVM) switches allow secure access to multiple systems and different classes of networks from a single user console. ClearCube’s zero clients connect the user’s monitors, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and USB peripherals to their PC blade or virtual machine without the use of an operating system or local storage. The ClientCube solution will allow secure, easy switching between physical and virtual desktops, optimizing productivity for end users.
“Through preliminary discussions with partners we have seen a very high demand for a solution enabling secure access to virtual environments,” said Randy Printz, CEO, ClearCube. “As a product of this partnership, ClientCube gives government agencies the best of both worlds—secure switching through Belkin’s Secure KVM and virtualized desktops though ClearCube’s zero clients.”
Unveiled today at the Unified Cross Domain Management Office Conference, ClientCube will be available through ClearCube’s channel partners as an OEM product beginning in Q3 of this year. ClientCube incorporates Belkin’s latest, NIAP certified KVM technology and ClearCube’s award-winning zero clients, both of which are listed on the GSA schedule.
